Monday 1st August – bike **** – Around Felixstowe including lunch at Kings Fleet – sunny and warm.

Good start to the month, lovely warm, sunny weather, morning at home before making a sandwich and heading out on our bikes at 12.45. We did not want to go too far so took Marsh Lane to Kings Fleet where we sat on one of the fishing platforms for a picnic. We were soon joined by around 20 swans preening but a disappointing number of dragon flies. Back on the farm track we stopped to watch a buzzard and kestrel sparing high above us while a combine was working a field away:) Sadly my bike battery had run out so I had to peddle the old way with no problems:) Back by foot paths and quiet country lanes through Trimley to our favourite tree lined path back to Felixstowe docks where we had to wait for a train to pass! Mag then headed for home while I did a detour to the view point, through Landguard, along the prom and home. So a nice bike ride, out nearly three hours covering over 16 miles and hopefully we now have two breezy, hot days, fingers crossed I might even get out on my fin board for a change!
